The adoption of crypto.

It is mid Q1 of 2022. The crypto market has hit a bit of a slump, although bullish news has been pouring in day after day. Companies and CEOs are declaring that crypto will be accepted at their vendor.
A few questions about this phenomenon arise: why is this bullish news not being reflected on to the market? What has changed now, that crypto is becoming more and more mainstream? Are these declarations just for some cheap publicity? I will try to answer these questions below:

Why is this bullish news not being reflected on to the market?
I am not a master trader by any means, but I think the reason that all these bullish statements and news casts are not reflected on the market for a few reasons:
1. The retails investors want memes and FOMO, Uber saying “Bitcoin is going to be accepted at some point” it not enough to really “light that rocket”
2. Nothing is clear, the CEOs and companies are declaring that crypto and Bitcoin will be accepted and used but do not even give us a solid timeline. This is very bad for institutional investors and VCs, who will be influenced less by FOMO and tend to make more rational decisions.
3. Many just don’t believe these companies will follow through. I too do not have much faith that today’s organizations with accept tomorrows money.

What has changed now, that crypto is becoming more and more mainstream?
1. Now that crypto is becoming more and more mainstream, companies have a much easier time declaring (and potentially accepting digital currencies).
2. More retail investors are joining the markets, the markets could potentially (crazy, I know) become more volatile. Many people, who have not a smidgen of an idea about the ideology behind crypto, are sure to fall prey to FOMO and fear-mongering tactics, potentially leading to a herd mentality.
3. More institutional investors and VCs are joining the game. This will hopefully mean less money flowing to meme-coins and more money flowing to solid projects with inherit value behind them.

Are these declarations just for some cheap publicity?
Possibly, yes, though we have no way to know but waiting. We must watch carefully, to see which organizations start supporting this digital revolution first so that we can support them back.
